The Wood Element
What Wood is
Wood (木) is the rising, expanding force of spring — the sap that pushes upward and outward after winter. In a chart it governs growth, planning, kindness and the drive to begin, and it wants a clear direction to climb toward.

The Wood correspondences
Where Wood sits in the five-element cycle
The five elements move in two cycles — a generating cycle (生), where each element feeds the next, and a controlling cycle (剋), where each keeps another in balance.
Generated byWater →GeneratesFire →Controlled byMetal →ControlsEarth →Who carries Wood
This describes the pattern in general — every chart carries it differently. The app reads the whole chart — how it moves through the years, and what to do with it.

What does the Wood element mean in Saju?
Each of the five elements (오행) is a phase of energy. Wood carries its own season, direction, color and personality, and its balance with the other four shapes a chart. Your day master element is the “you,” but every pillar adds elements to the mix.
Is more Wood always better?
No — Saju is about balance, not maximizing one element. Too much of any element is as telling as too little. What matters is how Wood relates to your day master and to the elements you lack.
